Data Deletion Instructions

These instructions explain how to request deletion of personal information held by Reel Canto Films Inc., a Washington corporation operating under the Reel Canto Films brand. They also explain how to remove a Facebook or Meta integration and request deletion of information associated with it.

Your Right to Deletion

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request deletion of personal information we have collected about you. California residents may exercise applicable rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA). Individuals in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom may exercise applicable erasure rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or UK GDPR.

You may submit a deletion request whether you contacted us directly, used our website, or connected with Reel Canto Films through Facebook or another Meta service. We do not discriminate against individuals for exercising applicable privacy rights.

What We Delete

After verifying a valid request, we delete or de-identify personal information associated with the requester that is not subject to a lawful retention requirement. This may include contact details, messages and inquiry content, project-related communications, website submission data, account identifiers received through an authorized Meta integration, and other information reasonably linked to the verified requester.

Deletion includes removal from active systems under our control. Residual copies may remain temporarily in restricted backups until those backups are overwritten through our normal retention cycle. Backup data is not used for ordinary business purposes and remains protected while retained.

What We May Retain

We may retain limited information when reasonably necessary to comply with federal, state, or local law; respond to legal claims; enforce agreements; protect security and prevent fraud; or maintain required tax, accounting, transaction, and corporate records. We may also retain a minimal record showing that a deletion request was received and completed. Any retained information will be limited to the relevant purpose and kept only for the required period.

How to Request Deletion

Email admin@reelcanto.site with the subject “Data Deletion Request.” To help us locate and process your information, include:

  1. Your full name.
  2. The email address or phone number you used when interacting with Reel Canto Films.
  3. A brief description of the service, website form, project inquiry, or Meta connection involved.
  4. If applicable, the name or identifier associated with your Facebook account. Do not send your Facebook password.
  5. A clear statement that you want your associated personal information deleted.

You may use an authorized agent where permitted by law. We may request evidence of the agent’s authority and may contact you directly to confirm the request.

Data from Facebook or Meta

To remove our integration from Facebook, sign in to Facebook and open Settings & privacy, select Settings, then locate Apps and websites. Select the Reel Canto Films integration, if listed, and choose the option to remove it. Meta may change the names or location of these controls.

Removing the integration stops future access but may not automatically delete information previously shared with us. To request deletion of associated data from our systems, also email us using the instructions above and identify the Facebook or Meta connection involved.

Verification

To protect personal information, we verify that a requester is the person to whom the information relates, or an authorized representative. Verification may involve matching details in the request with information already in our records or requesting limited additional information. We will never ask for your Facebook password. If we cannot verify a request, we will explain what additional information is needed or why we cannot complete it.

Timeline

We will confirm receipt of a deletion request within seven days. We aim to complete verified requests within 30 days. If legal complexity, backup processing, or verification requires additional time, we will notify you and provide an updated completion estimate.
